Today I came across an issue in a new Samourai wallet that I created in morning to receive some amount. This maybe experienced by few other users too and finally I resolved it after some research on reddit for similar issues. I had contacted support but they might have taken few hours/days to respond via email so tried troubleshooting myself.
So, the issue is wallet doesn’t show balance and says zero BTC even after few confirmations of the transaction on bitcoin network.
I created a wallet, copied the receive address (legacy) and sent some amount from another address. The wallet didn’t update the balance even after few confirmations and I also tried relaunching app etc.
After doing some research I decided to use the seed and create wallet on Electrum to see if it works there.
- Create new standard wallet
- Select “I already have a seed”
- Enter seed
- Select both “options” — bip 39 and extend seed
- Enter password used in Samourai at the time of wallet creation in “seed extension”
- Enter a new password for Electrum wallet, encrypt and let it sync
Got my btc!! :)
And finally I could resolve it! I am not sure if this happens only for legacy addresses but hope Samourai team is aware of such issues and fix it soon in their app.
